Monthly Peer Meetings

The second Tuesday of the month from 7 - 8 p.m.

This facilitated peer support group is a vital community where individuals can come together to share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs in a safe and affirming environment. This group provides a unique space where members can connect with others who understand their journey, offering both emotional support and practical advice. Through regular meetings and open discussions, participants can explore their identities, express their feelings, and receive validation from their peers. This shared sense of understanding and camaraderie helps to reduce feelings of isolation, fosters a sense of belonging, and empowers members to navigate the complexities of life as LGBTQ+ individuals.

The support group also serves as a platform for learning and growth. Participants can share resources, discuss strategies for coping with discrimination or coming out, and build their confidence in a supportive setting. These interactions can be particularly valuable for those who may not have a strong support network outside the group. By offering a space where ever amyone is accepted and valued, the LGBTQ+ peer support group plays a crucial role in promoting mental health, resilience, and community empowerment. It’s not just a place to talk—it’s a place to grow, heal, and build connections that can last a lifetime.

I am an ally, recently retired from the practice of psychotherapy, and am supportive and affirming of all orientations and gender identities. I believe folks know who they are in a deep and grounded way, and having a place to talk about their experiences is essential.
